My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Tonka, a very energetic 8-year-old who was not initially what we thought. We were told he was a Miniature Pinscher but at 30 pounds, this was impossible. After doing some research, Tonka appears to be a German Pinscher, which fits with not only his looks but his character as well. This sturdy and active fellow was surrendered to Kiko’s care due to changes at home. Tonka had been living with his owner for 4 years, and with his original owner before that where there were apparently children who handled him roughly, so no small children please. He has a strong but loving and affectionate personality, and would benefit from an experienced adopter who can provide both structure and stimulation in a loving home. Tonka is being fostered with cats and is fairly well behaved with them, and is also good with other dogs. He loves going for car rides and running is also one of his passions. Tonka currently requires 4 good walks per day plus access to either a backyard or somewhere else where he can run safely. If you can fulfill Tonka’s exercise needs, have experience being a pack leader for a very intelligent dog, and are looking for a dog that's not too big and not too small, you might be the final home that Tonka needs. If you are interested in adopting our good-looking boy, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website.

All Kiko dogs have been examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated, dewormed, tested for heartworm, sterilized, and require an adoption fee of $400 ($275 for senior dogs and $125 for cats) and an adoption contract.
