My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey! My name is Tammy. I am a 6-year-old female Norfolk Terrier mix.

Clearly, I am an adorable little pup, but I have a great personality, too! I'm sweet, docile, and the perfect size for travel. At just 14 pounds, I think I am small enough to take on a flight. Imagine all the places we could go together. Just think about the fun we would have exploring all the world's wonders!

There's little background information on me, but I want to tell you what we know. I was brought into a local high-kill shelter as a stray. I was in pretty bad shape when I arrived. The staff noticed that I had some bruising on the underside of my abdomen and that I would fall over whenever I would attempt to walk. The shelter took X-rays of my pelvic area to try and figure out why I couldn't walk and sure enough, I had several pelvic fractures. I had most likely been hit by a car. I have cataracts in both eyes so it's no surprise that I may have had a difficult time seeing a car coming towards me. In case you're wondering, I am still visual in both eyes, it's just that one eye is more advanced than the other.

CageFree heard about me through a volunteer at the shelter and knew that they needed to get me to a specialist. So they pulled me right away and sent me to see their private vet. My doctor confirmed that my pelvis was fractured in several spots, but he's pretty confident I'll heal on my own and not need surgery. I am supposed to be on activity restriction for a month and then he'll reassess. My paws are crossed! I'm already doing so much better. I'm even walking now!

I am more than just my injuries, though. I'm a very well-behaved pup and I walk nicely on a leash. I would make a great companion for someone, I promise! I will love you unconditionally and will never leave your side. If you think that I am the right dog for you, please don't hesitate to contact CageFree and tell them you want to meet me!
