Pookie's Story...
Pookie is a Take Me Home courtesy post. Pookie is not affiliated with Take Me Home. She is not under our care. Take Me Home is not responsible for any adoptions through private parties. For more information on Pookie or to meet Pookie please email Margie at: margobruno1@gmail.com.

Pookie is a female, 7 years old, spayed. medium size, 45 lbs, in great health.

She is an absolute sweetheart with older kids and adults, but she gets agitated around very small children who get in her "space." She has nipped at them.

She is pretty good with most dogs, but gets territorial about her food and toys, so she will do best as an only pet.

Pookie is extremely playful and affectionate. She adores playing ball and being outside. She gives tons of kisses - right on the mouth - and has this adorable "smile" and happy howl when she is excited to see you. She loves to cuddle.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pookie, a Santa Monica Shiba Inu/German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shiba Inu/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Santa Monica, or seeking a Shiba Inu/German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Santa Monica.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Monica already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Monica breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shiba Inu/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Shiba Inu/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Monica paves the way for another one to be saved.
