Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is our Lem he is a Carolina Plott Hound that we rescued from Miami Dade Animal Services. He came in as a 4 month old puppy with a broken back leg. He sat in the cage with a broken femur on death row for almost 2 weeks before we found out about him and rescued him. Once we met him we knew we had to do everything we could to save this guy and his leg. Many vets and shelters offer amputation as a first response to any broken leg for a shelter animal. After all amputation cost around $800 and leg surgery costs around $3000. We at Rescue A Dog, Inc. will do everything in our power to rehabilitate a dog the best that we can. Lem had his leg surgery and his leg was able to be saved. The broken bone cut into the growth plate a bit so one back leg will always be a little shorter than the other and because of this he will walk with a little limp but that will not slow him down at all. He is a wonderfully sweet puppy, and at 6 months old full of play. He is currently around 37 lbs and should grow to be a medium size dog. His foster mom has dogs, cats and kids and he loves everyone. What more could one ask for? Lem gets neutered on 8/19 and will be adoptable after that date. If you are considering adopting Lem please go to our website RescueADog.org and under the forms tab fill out and email the Adoption Application back to info@RescueADog.org We screen all potential adopters and do home visits to make sure our pups go to the best possible home. Thank You.
