Carter's Story...
Hello World,
My name is Carter and I am a little bichon of 11 pounds with a great big personality –
or, as my foster mom says, “A precious sweetheart in a small package!!!

Mom says I get along well with dogs and cats and would love to play and play and play. Since I came to Mom’s home, however, I have been recovering from a broken leg – so I haven’t been able to run and jump yet… but soon I will be able to do EVERYTHING! In the meantime I love to be cradled like a baby, and have my belly rubbed (it puts me right to sleep!) and I’ve learned to be quite the snuggler too. I love being with people and get very excited when I meet kids! Soon I will be able to match their activity level, step by step!)

Dad says I'm an incredibly HAPPY little guy who is friendly, playful, curious and cuddly. When I see Mom’s cats, and even the neighbor’s cat I am unafraid and just plain curious. I go nose to nose, wag my tail and try to get them to play with me (So far they haven’t done that …but I keep hoping they will!)

Dad says I like to lie on the back of the couch and watch cars and people go by. I don’t bark or make a fuss – I just enjoy being a part of this wonderful world!

Mom says I am housebroken, smart and want to please. She says that, when I get the “ok” from the vet (in about a week) that I will be able to run, do laps, chase and play to my heart’s content. Even now I like to play with Mom and Dad (I like to roll on my back and try to catch Mom’s hand when she comes close… then I talk her into a belly rub and fall fast asleep!)

Most of all Mom wants you to know that I am a little love of a guy with tons of promise, who would love another fur kid to play with and love, as well as a family of my own (even one with cats!) So if I sound like the kind of bichon that you have been looking for, please complete the application at www.bichonfurkids.org as I am waiting to meet
you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carter, a La Costa Bichon Frise dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bichon Frise for sale in La Costa, or seeking a Bichon Frise dog from a breeder in La Costa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in La Costa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a La Costa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bichon Frise breeders who help with Bichon Frise rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in La Costa paves the way for another one to be saved.
