My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This beautiful dog was found wandering the streets scavenging for food. He is the sweetest boy. He is approx 18 months old and 32 lbs. He looks like a wheaten terrier mix (not hypo allergenic). He was so matted we had to shave him down to the skin. His coat is now growing back really well. He was heart worm positive and has been treated and is also on a monthly heart worm preventative that we require all of our dogs to be on for life. He is very quiet and well behaved, not a dog that runs and plays with buddies, but tends to be more quiet and laid back. He gets along well with everyone and loves people, is a little shy and timid at first, does well on a leash and seems to be pretty well house trained, He runs out to the yard and likes to wander around but would prefer to be hanging out inside. He would probably do better in an all adult house hold that is a little quieter.

If you live in MA, there are new requirements for rescue dogs - according to the State Law, all rescues have to be quarantined for 48 hrs at the Ben Elder Kennels in Westport, MA. There is additional cost for this quarantine and new required health cert by a licensed MA vet of $110. We will go over all fees with you via email. Also, The state of MA does not allow adoptions of dogs that are heart worm positive until they test clear. We are required to do a foster to adopt until the dog tests heart worm negative, usually in 4-6 months after treatment.
