Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Do you like to play? Do you like a constant companion as you move through your house? If you answered yes, then I am your little man. My name is Walter and I was living in deplorable conditions before the nice people at Midwest Brew rescued me along with many other beagles. Now I love living in a house snuggling in my warm dog bed, loving my people, and hanging with my foster brother.
My foster Mom says I am a very handsome blue-tick. My legs are a little on the shorter side and my ears are a little on the longer side and I only weigh 23 pounds.
Did I mention that I like to play? I prefer stuffed toys that I can carry around the house and chew on. I also love to play fetch and if I like who I’m playing with enough I’ll bring the toy back over and over and over again! Once I’m done playing I usually plop down for a long nap.
I am pretty much housetrained. Every once in a while I’ll have an accident but my foster Mom says it’s because the humans didn’t catch on to my pacing and sniffing, which is my potty dance. I’ve also learned to wait by the back door just to give them another hint.
I do have some separation anxiety and I don’t care for crates at all. I have full run of my foster Mom’s downstairs because of this. As long as the garbage is put away and any stuffed animals are put away, I am not destructive. I just hang out while she’s gone. The one thing that I am learning is that humans are good. I love my foster family but when people come to visit I am very unsure of them. I bark and usually do some pacing to keep my eye on them. I am getting better, but this is something that I need to continue to work on.
When Midwest Brew rescued me I was heart worm positive. My treatments are all complete and I am feeling much better. I will need a check-up in a few months and must take Heartguard every month without fail.
I am really a cute and fun guy! I know when you meet me you will fall in love with me cause I’m such an awesome little man!
