My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Katana. I spent the first 6 or 7 years of my life outside with my pack mate with minimal human contact. I am not sure how long it really was because no one ever celebrated my birthdays with me! Don’t get me wrong…I had food, water and shelter but no one ever walked me or took me places or let me come inside. This is probably why I ended up so overweight.

But this has all changed. I got rescued by the best humans. They put me on a new diet and I have started dropping pounds. You can actually see my girlish figure starting to show! I love walks and am pretty good on a leash. I even get to come in the house now. There are so many exciting things to explore in there. I don’t even mind sleeping in a crate. I am very vocal and love to chat with my humans. My pack mate and I even sing to each other at night before we go to sleep.

I am a work in progress but if you don’t mind that and want a furry kid who loves people and attention, I may be just the girl you are looking for!

This is what Katana’s  foster mom says about her…

Katana came to us never knowing anything but an outside dog pen. She was filthy, never brushed and so overweight she could hardly move. Since being with us, she has lost weight but still has a way to go. For never being inside, she does remarkably well. She loves to snoop and has only had one accident inside. She is perfectly happy to sleep in a crate at night but enjoys singing before she goes to sleep. She can be a little slow to pick her human friends but is very loving and friendly when she decides you are ok. She is very vocal and is more than happy to tell you she hasn’t gotten enough treats that day. She still hasn’t figured out that these treats aren’t helping her weight problem! She has displayed some aggression towards our male so it would be best for her to be an only fur child or possibly she could be placed with a large mellow male dog. She is up to date on all her vaccinations, is chipped and will be spayed soon. She is a fun dog and would love to have a family of her own to share that with.
