My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Michelle ma belle! This adorable 36lb, 2 year old piglet of a girl is a silly little pup who loves all people. She wants to plaaaaay with other dogs, even larger dogs she can really tussle with.... but always respectfully! She happily snorts and wiggles to express her pleasure. We have not tested her with cats, but we can!

Michelle's special need is that she is blind, and we believe has become blind fairly recently. She has had extensive medical tests and the blindness does not appear reversible, and it is NOT symptomatic of anything else. She's just a happy little girl who can't see. This does not limit her life in any way (the only limitations to her are the imaginary ones set by humans).

She is still getting used to walking on the sidewalk on a leash, but will master it very soon. She is great inside or on grass, and will learn the layout of your home in about a day! Unless you're the sort who regularly re-arranges the furniture in the middle of the night, she'll be fine (and if you are, seriously, seek help. Friends don't let friends sleep-decorate.) Michelle is also getting used to stairs so initially may need a baby gate in two-story homes (so she doesn't accidentally go down them), but like everything else, she will get used to stairs. Dogs aren't like humans - they don't have self-pity, so they just get on with life. Michelle will learn how to walk on pavement, and she will learn where the stairs are and how to go up and down them, it will just take a month or so.

And seriously, it impresses EVERYONE when you have a blind dog. Friends, members of your desired sex, you name it - "oh, she's blind?" It is like a MAGNET. Come meet this happy lady today and see for yourself her magnetic personality.
