My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Foster location: Nampa, ID

Handsome boy Keeg is a 7 year old purebred Siberian Husky who came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue when his owner could no longer care for him.

This handsome man is all Husky and LOVES to talk to you, he is very vocal and LOVES to be around his people; so much so that he will whine if you leave him outside by himself for any length of time. He just really wants to be where you are.

If you are looking for a good sized lap dog Keeg is your boy; if you’re sitting on the couch, he likes to sit half in your lap. He is also pretty funny to be around; he has a “rug ritual” where he rubs his head and feet on the carpet while lying on his side and moaning… sooooo funny.

Keeg is good with kids but we require kids that are 10 and older due to Keeg’s excitability. He can get overly excited sometimes and will snap at little fingers in order to get a treat; he needs a home that will continue to work on him with his impulse control issues.

Sleeps great in a crate and is crate trained for when his foster mom leaves the house. Just say “kennel” and he (reluctantly) goes in. He is house trained but does need to be let out on a regular basis; he thrives on structure in his life.

Keeg already knows sit, shake, down, kennel. He rides well in the car and is fairly good on leash. He is motivated by praise, a pet and treats and is eager to please. He is a bit of a goofball at times but he’s very easy going also; he just loves to be loved on.

This boy is great with other playful dogs and would be fine in a home with or without another dog. However no cats or other small creatures for him; he has a very high prey drive. Being a Husky he does like to dig if bored and will jump a fence as well. So he must have a 6’ or taller fence in his adoptive home. You cannot just leave him in the backyard for long periods of time or he will dig out and as we already stated you must be okay with a lot of “talking” as he loves to speak to you.

Please note that a Husky needs a confident, consistent owner; if he doesn’t have one he will take advantage, becoming willful and mischievous. Huskies make an excellent jogging companion, as long as it is not too hot. This breed likes to howl and gets bored easily. Does not do well if left alone for a long period of time without a great deal of exercise beforehand. A lonely Husky, or a Husky that does not get enough mental and physical exercise can be very destructive. Remember that the Husky is a sled dog in heart and soul.

Keeg is neutered, current on his vaccinations and microchipped.

If you have been searching for an amazing dog then Keeg is you boy! If you can offer him a cat free loving forever home, please fill out an application with Fuzzy Pawz Rescue: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ he would LOVE to meet you!

There is a $50 adoption fee for Keeg
