Barney's Story...
My name is Barney and I am the sweetest little Dachshund you will ever meet. I’m just 20 months old and tip the scales at 20 pounds. My foster mom tells me I’m a good boy. I do have a lot of puppy energy and love to run and play. I jump on and off the couch to cuddle with my people but I’m not a fan of long flights of stairs.
I came to Fur Fun Rescue because I was purchased as a gift for an 85 year old and I was too much for her to handle. What were they thinking? I’m a puppy! I like other dogs and cats but I love my people. I’ll happily follow you all over because I am interested in everything you do. I come running when you call me and get used to routines very easily.
Barney is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barney, a Lisbon Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Lisbon, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Lisbon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lisbon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lisbon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lisbon paves the way for another one to be saved.
