Piper's Story...
Piper oh Piper. How can it be that they almost put you down for space? Piper is an amazingly sweet little chi mix (about 15 pounds). She was almost put down in a high kill shelter because of overcrowding. When there is 200 plus dogs at the shelter, what chance does a little brown chi have? Sadly, not much. Chis are the 2nd most killed dog. Our volunteer had vowed to get her out, so as soon as we said, 'Do you have any recommendations for a dog to come to our rescue?' things got rolling. She survived a month at this high kill facility which is rare, so someone there must have been looking out for her. She is good with cats and dogs and calm children. She is extremely sweet and will devote herself to her person For the all around great dog, contact us about Piper. For more info please call 435-215-9282 or email soutocsp@hotmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Piper, a Hurricane Chihuahua/Basenji dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Basenji for sale in Hurricane, or seeking a Chihuahua/Basenji dog from a breeder in Hurricane.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hurricane already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hurricane breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Basenji breeders who help with Chihuahua/Basenji rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hurricane paves the way for another one to be saved.
