My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mugsy Jr (JR for short - formerly Nick from Ansonia Animal Shelter) is doing GREAT in his foster home!

Kristyn, his foster mom, took him to our vet to be checked out, as we do with all new dogs in our rescue. She tells us that JR was a perfect gentleman! He greeted the vet tech and our vet with smiles and kisses, and waited patiently for the appointment to begin. GOOD boy, JR!

She says that he also REALLY loves car rides! :)

Generally, Kristyn tells us that he is relaxing, loving life, and becoming more and more of himself as the days go by :) She says that he lays down and gives kisses whenever she puts his harness on him to go for a walk, and follows her around the house. He is getting along great with his two foster doggy brothers, and Candido, his foster dad, as well as with Kristyn.

JR met some children, both on a walk and at one of our recent adoption events, and was just fine with them :) We think he may do best with children 5 years old or older, only because he's a stocky young guy and might knock over little ones without meaning to.

We think that JR will be just fine with cats, as well.

He will have a follow-up visit with the skin specialist who treated him previously. He has demodex mange (NOT contagious) - but our vet said that it looks as if it is definitely getting better, as we hoped it would once he was out of the pound and had a chance to decompress.

After that appointment, he will be ready and waiting to be adopted :)

JR is a truly wonderful dog! He's a youngster, only about 1-2 years old.

He will make an absolutely terrific family pet!
