Lil Spike's Story...
Lil Spike is a small package of pure personality. He's about 6 pounds, and 5-6 years of age, which is not even middle-aged by Poodle measures. Lil Spike has weak patellas, and the doctor advised he's not going to get any better. However, he moves ok and certainly seems to be having a good time. He's social and affectionate.
The staining on his face is pre-groom, and can be mitigated with daily cleansing with a warm, wet washcloth. Come by Poodle Rescue of Houston any day to meet this great dog and many others - the best time to visit is between 9-4:30.
All the dogs are spayed/neutered, current on shots, and parasite / heartworm checked (and treated if positive). All dogs are trained to use a doggie door. Adoption Fees vary. Please see our website: www.poodlerescueofhouston.org for complete info on our organization and directions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lil Spike, a Houston Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) for sale in Houston, or seeking a Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) breeders who help with Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
