To look at Hayden, he seems like a normal, plain black cat- but you better believe this guy is magic! Sweet, cuddly, and affectionate, Hayden is a true lap cat. He loves to be snuggled up to you, will reach out to ask for hugs, and will melt in your arms like a sleeping baby. He loves so deeply, you'll wonder how you ever made it through a day without a daily dose of Hayden hugs, and to top it off he will come and give you the sweetest, most tender little cat kisses. He is at his best when he can lay on you, purring up a storm while you do absolutely anything! He is very intelligent, and will play fetch with his toy mice and catch them in the air when you throw them to him.

Hayden is clearly extremely human orientated and loves people so for him to be found abandoned, wandering the streets, skinny and with untreated wounds must have been heartbreaking for him. He found another street cat and they became best friends and were so happy in their foster home, but sadly that happiness didn't last. Hayden's brother died suddenly, leaving Hayden distraught. He was incredibly lonely and spent a long time grieving. He was introduced to a couple of cats who he liked, but it's only when Westley arrived that he knew he'd found another buddy for life. He is now happier than ever! Hayden and Westley love to play- string, wands and toy mice will have them running, leaping and somersaulting to get them. They love to wrestle, chasing each other round making little chirping noises, and then jumping on each other to start off the real games! Then, when they have finished playing, they will settle down and groom each other, putting all their fur back in place after the fun.

Hayden and Westley are looking for a new family who can play with them daily, and who will love them forever! They are active cats who want a home where they can run around chasing each other, look out the window and watch the world go by, followed by evenings of snuggling.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hayden, a Vancouver Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
