My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi. I’m Precious Ann, 11 years young, an AKC mini-Schnauzer, spayed, UTD on all my shots, and heart worm negative.

I grew up in Ohio, but in July my family lost their house and couldn’t take me to the new apartment. I was heartbroken, but they took me to Schnauzer Rescue Cincinnati where I met a lot of nice people, so I adjusted quickly. My foster mom says that’s because I never met a stranger. I’m ready to wiggle and kiss everybody, even the mailman!

I would love a forever family with a big back yard so I can chase squirrels. Gosh I love to chase squirrels! My new vet in Louisville thought I was five years old before he examined me, so I have the energy to chase lots of squirrels, and play with you and kids too. I’d do best as the only dog so I could have you all to myself, but I get along great with male dogs. That’s because my rescue people say I’m an alpha female. Maybe that’s why I don’t get along with cats?

I’m very gentle, calm, and quiet in the house. When you have to leave me, I’m crate trained, so while I’ll miss you, I don’t make a fuss. I AM a bit of a chow-hound (though I maintain a healthy weight of 19.2 pounds), and super smart, so I learn new routines quickly. I’m also completely housebroken, so I’ll let you know when I need to go out. Since my new vet says I’m in ‘superb health’, I have many more years to give my love to a special family, and that’s all I really want to do.

I live in the Clifton area of Louisville. My foster mom says I “put the precious in dog” - and that’s why they call me Precious Ann.

Precious Ann is being fostered by Jackie in Louisville. Adoption fee is $250.
