My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NOTE: All our Cupids are fostered in private homes. An approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Meet Audree!
Audree is a 4 year old English bulldog/pit bull mix. She is 48 lbs, potty-trained and crate-trained. Audree loves other dogs once she gets to know them, but needs very slow, proper intros with multiple meetings. She is in foster care with a cat and does great with him. She is good with kids, but can be mouthy when excited, so older kids would be best.

Audree has been in foster care about a year. She came in with a severe case of mange, along with other medical issues. She has gotten much better, but she has a weak immune system, and other skin issues. We are looking for a foster-to-adopt family so she can continue healing in a home she will be in forever. She will need continued medical care, covered by Canine Cupids.

She needs a dedicated family who is willing to do what she needs to heal. That includes baths every other day, daily medications, once a month vet appointments, as well as most likely needing leg surgery on her back legs and another eye surgery for entropy.

Audree has been through a lot, yet has a big personality, and is a very happy girl. She loves her human with everything she has, and deserves to find a special family that will love and care for her forever.

Audree’s adoption fee is $150, and she is being fostered in southeastern Wisconsin. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

If you are interested in adopting, here are the next steps for you to take:

1. Complete & submit an application at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html

2. You will be notified by our Adoptions Team when your application is processed and approved (usually within 48 hrs)

3. Once approved, your application is sent to the foster family, who will then be able to provide you all the information imaginable on the dog as well as set up a meet and greet.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
