My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Marley was surrendered to the pound today because of his owner's housing issues. We got there just as his owners were leaving and witnessed his heartbreaking and bewildered expression as he watched the people he had trusted walk out of his life forever from behind the chainlink fence. His owners did not seem anywhere near as heartbroken and he clearly didn't have the life he deserved- he lived outside, had no vet care, dirty mats behind his ears and clearly was not considered a member of the family. He is completely shell-shocked and very timid and shy right now, and needs someone to show him how much better his life can be. As scared as he is he has now shown any aggression and seems to want to trust us. We think he's about 5-6 years old (his owners couldn't even remember his actual age), and is a gorgeous little ~45lbs teddy bear who looks to have some keeshond, shepherd, husky, collie, ??? in his lineage. He seems to get happier meeting other dogs and our adoptable girl Virginia befriended him right away and seemed to be helping him come out of his shell. He is looking for a quiet adult home and someone who will help him adjust to living in the house as a beloved family member instead of a lawn ornament. Please email njwoof@cs.com if you are interested in Marley.

We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS). To help us better match a pet to your household, we request you fill out an application on our homepage www.secondchance.petfinder.com and copy and paste it into an email, or print it and bring it to our adoption day when you come. Local inquiries only please- we do not do long distance adoptions.
