Approx 1 and 1/2 years old
Last Winter, I found Kai living in the bushes next to a busy highway when the temperature was down in the teens. He was extremely sick with upper respiratory infection and eye infection. His eyes were so infected that he was almost blind and he couldn't find food or dry shelter. He was matted and filthy, emaciated and depressed. I spent over $1,000 getting him back to health. His eyes are better, but he has suffered permanent damage in one and has limited vision. He gets around just fine, but has some troubles with depth perception and seeing details.
Kai has been diagnosed as border-line diabetic. Since we caught this early, he only needs special food to control his glucose level. He does not require insulin shots. But his diet needs to be just the glucose food, and no access to other pet food. This has been almost impossible with my 6 other pets and he is always somehow sneaking into their food, even the dog food. If this continues, he will be a full-blown diabetic cat requiring insulin injections. I really don't want that for him. I can't manage his diet as much as I'd like with so many pets. Also, one one of my other cats does not get along with Kai. So though he is a wonderful cat, I am looking for a new home for him.
Kai would be great as an only cat. He would also be good with another diabetic cat or fine with other cats as long as he is fed separately. He is great with dogs. He is an extremely handsome kitty with long hair grey silky fur. He is funny, and will make you laugh at his antics. He's affectionate and chatty. He lays in the weirdest positions and will talk to you all day. He lays on top of the AC vents most of the day. He loves to chase toy mice and balls. He really is a super cat. Very personable. Please contact Pansy Kirksey at firstname.lastname@example.org with inquires. A donation to SNAP of your choice would be required as an adoption fee.
Kai will be great in any type of home including with older children and small dogs. He will make a very special addition to the family.
Like all SNAP pets, Kai is neutered, up to date on shots and vaccinations, and micro-chipped. And ready to meet you at one of our adoption centers or by special appointment.
