Smokey Joe's Story...
**Smokey Joe is located in Romeoville, IL**

My name is Smokey Joe. Mom gave me that name because of the grey in my coat. I am a big, handsome boy with light colored eyes. My chin is solid grey and I look like I am smiling all of the time. I am a curious boy but I am cautious around strangers. I’m sure we will get to be fast friends once you make me your boy.

Smokey Joe is about 5 months old.

Fill out an adoption application at http://www.illinoisanimalrescueinc.org/adoption-application/view/form.html.

All cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, current on their vaccinations, feline leukemia/FIV tested, per age; treated for fleas/ticks and urgently awaiting adoption!
The dogs and cats are so very appreciative of your support. Together we can save these forsaken loving 'innocents' who are condemned to death.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smokey Joe, a Palatine Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Palatine, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Palatine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Palatine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Palatine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Palatine paves the way for another one to be saved.
