Phoebe's Story...
This should be easy, eh? I’m lookin’ for a home…yer lookin’ for a dog…I mean, why not? Well, there are a few things to consider first…even though I’m super sweet, totally adorable, great with other dogs, cats and gentle kids 5+ …I’m also a big puppy who needs a good deal of exercise and someone to continue my training. I am crate trained already, so that’s a great start, and I even know a few tricks already—like how to wag my tail really fast, and how to roll over for belly rubs! Ok, so maybe those aren’t tricks per se, but it’s still pretty cool if you ask me. I have lots of potential, I promise! I just need someone to show me the ropes…But that’s what puppies need, and I don’t think that’s too much to ask for! Gimme love, exercise, training, and you’ll have one awesome pooch on your hands! 1 year old-50lbs. My adoption fee is $220 and includes spay, microchip & registration, 1 month pet health insurance, free vet exam, reduced cost training class, leash/collar, toy and treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Phoebe, a Portland German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Portland, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
