Benny's Story...
Benny was left at a high kills shelter by his previous owners. He was very sad and scared there, but managed to be sweet, and never stop wagging his tail to the staff. Our rescue was asked to come and help him, and we did immediately. He was an adult little guy, and his owners were seniors. He is sweet, loving, likes to cuddle, being in your lap, and makes a great companion. He doesn't require much activities, and his potty trained. His owner didn't neuter him early, so he tends to like to mark his territory. We have been working with him, and it's improving. We recommend a belly band for discouragement. He is so tiny, we prefer a house with no small children or large active dogs. Give him a kiss, and he will kiss you back.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Benny, a Houston Cairn Terrier/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cairn Terrier/Chihuahua for sale in Houston, or seeking a Cairn Terrier/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cairn Terrier/Chihuahua breeders who help with Cairn Terrier/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
