Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me.
My name is Kira and I am a 6 year old spayed female Shih Tzu who came to NBS Animal Rescue when my momma became ill and was unable to care for me and my good friend Ricky. Her family and friends reached out to NBS Animal Rescue to help make sure we were well taken care of and to help us find a new home that would love us fur-ever.
I am a happy go lucky little lady who loves to spend time with the people in my life. I'm a quiet gal most of the time, although I do really enjoy romping and sniffing in my foster homes fenced back yard and going for walks down the block. I'm a social gal - I like meeting new people and enjoying car rides to explore new places. I not only get along really well with Ricky but I also get along with most other dogs too if they are friendly and mellow.
I am a smart little lady and know how to sit, potty outside, dance on my hind legs, give kisses, and walk nicely on a leash. I'm also very trustworthy in the house when you are gone...but I hope you won't be gone too long - I love spending time laying on your lap, lounging in the back yard, or going for a walk.
My friend Ricky and I would like to be adopted together if possible, but, we're also OK with both of us finding loving homes apart. Check out my friend Ricky's picture and biography please. :-)
My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?
These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 6 hour periods.
- Children must be 7 yrs or older
- 100% fenced in yard is preferred as she had one previously however, with the right home who walks frequently and has a plan for frequent potty breaks she would do well.
If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
