Princess J's Story...
Princess J is a small Poodle mix, probably with Maltese, who is newly arrived at PRH with her children Spotty, Dino and Chata. Princess J is 6 years old and weighs about 7 pounds. She has cloudy eyes - perhaps cataracts - but gets around pretty well, so must have some vision. Princess J is a sweet, social dog who gets along with other dogs and who will adapt well to a variety of settings.
Come by Poodle Rescue of Houston any day to meet this great dog and many others - the best time to visit is between 9-4:30.
All the dogs are spayed/neutered, current on shots, and parasite / heartworm checked (and treated if positive). All dogs are trained to use a doggie door. Adoption Fees vary. Please see our website: www.poodlerescueofhouston.org for complete info on our organization and directions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Princess J, a Houston Poodle (Miniature)/Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Miniature)/Maltese for sale in Houston, or seeking a Poodle (Miniature)/Maltese dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Miniature)/Maltese breeders who help with Poodle (Miniature)/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
