Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet darling Samantha is 13 years old and she is quite the little lady who only weighs 10 lbs. She was abandoned at a high kill shelter by her former pet parents with no reason given. She is a lively girl who certainly does not seem to understand that she is a senior citizen. She LOVES her squeaky toys and she is very playful. She wags her tail when she sees the people she loves and she likes to be held and babied. She is a good eater and she enjoys a dog cookie from time to time. Samantha came to us with some dirty teeth and very dry eyes. Her teeth have been cleaned and she only had to have one tooth extracted! Her dry eyes are chronic and she will always need cyclosporine applied to her eyes twice a day to keep them moist, comfortable and healthy. She is a shihtzu with long hair, so she will require grooming and flea control. She eats a high quality grain free kibble. She would do best in a home that is fairly low key. She is not the greatest about being on a leash but she could probably learn. She is housetrained and enjoys toddling around the yard on her own for a bit, but she must be an indoor dog and never left alone outside unattended due to her small size. A fenced yard is a must. Samantha knows her name and responds to it. She likes to ride in the car and is a quiet co-pilot. She is not a barker but will bark when she is hungry or wants to go outside. Samantha is an all around sweetheart of a girl and we would love to find her forever home. Samantha is spayed, up to date on all vaccines including rabies, and she is microchipped. Her adoption donation is $150.00. Please email stmartinsanimalrescue@hotmail.com for an application.
