My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We have nothing but great things to say about Luna! Her foster mom pulled her from a shelter in Brooklyn when her owner became very ill and had to surrender her. We can’t imagine how heartbreaking this had to be for both of them, because it is quite obvious that Luna was very loved and very well trained.

Luna is about 2 years old, and we think she is a shepherd/hound mix. She is great with people and loves other dogs. She is quite snuggly and loves curling up on her foster mom’s lap and will follow her everywhere. She is playful and enjoys a good game of fetch. She can catch a tennis ball in her mouth when thrown from quite a distance! She knows how to sit and shake, and she is crate trained (however, she is 100% house trained and perfectly behaved when left loose in the house with other dogs for up to 8 hours). She is very friendly and greets everyone with wags and kisses when they come for a visit.

Luna is about 40 pounds, spayed, up to date on all her shots, housebroken, crate trained, micro-chipped, and heart worm negative. She is the kind of dog that would fit in anywhere, especially with families with other dog(s). Luna is such a sweet and nice girl, and we are hoping to find her a forever home with a family that will cherish her. If you would like to meet Luna, please fill out an application today!

Check the events page on our website for more information and directions to meet our dogs. To adopt Luna, fill out our online dog application, or download our Microsoft Word dog application and return it to sheltersurvivors@live.com. It will help expedite the process.
