Shooster's Story...
This happy little guy is Shooster, a 5 year old maltese/terrier mix that would just love a home with a family that will give him a great life. Shooster came to us from our Newark facility after he was found as a stray. He's lucky he survived on the busy city streets and we're so glad to have this little sweetheart here with us now, where he is well cared for and loving life. Shooster is overjoyed to go out for walks with all of his new friends and eager to meet new people. He is very outgoing and sociable and it only takes a few seconds of knowing him for Shooster to stand on his hind legs and ask you for some attention. Shooster is very energetic and playful, and would love an active home where he will get exercise and playtime. Shooster is well behaved and walks well on a leash. He also sits nicely when asked and doesn't seem to mind other dogs, although he would prefer a home with no children under the age of 10. Shooster is ready for his fresh start in life with a loving family that will keep him safe and never let him be lost and lonely again. File# 25365 8/26/15

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shooster, a Forked River Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Maltese for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Maltese dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Maltese breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
