My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucky is a real low-drive boy whose favorite things to do are to be petted and have his tummy rubbed. Lucky won't be doing flyball or frisbee anytime soon. He'd prefer to lay at your side and watch on TV! He walks well on a leash, and does not pull at all. If anything, he sometimes needs convincing to pick up his pace a little bit to get a little better cardiovascular exercise. He loves going for rides in a car. Is really good with strangers and children. As far as this sweet fellow is concerned, everyone on the planet is here to pet him, and he reacts to new people with a furious wag of his tail. As far as other dogs go, Lucky can best be described as tolerant. It takes him a little while to warm up to new dogs and may need a bit of an introduction period. But once Lucky becomes used to new dogs, he tolerates the well as long as they don't try to jump all over him. Lucky would likely do well with a cat in the home. He has had some limited exposure to cats in foster care and is curious about them, but does not seem to be inclined to chase. Lucky has been diagnosed with a thyroid issue and is currently on medication for that condition. As a result of that medical issue, Lucky needs to lose some weight and we are working on that in foster care. But weight control will probably be an ongoing issue that an adoptive family will need to be willing to work on . . . meaning he needs regular walks and his diet will need to be monitored closely. If you want great companion dog, you are in luck with Lucky! This dog deserves a good adoptive home and we know it is out there somewhere; is it yours?
