Sonny's Story...
Sonny is a blonde Shar-Pei mix who's 5 years old, compact and very handsome. Don't let the frown fool you, though he's a bit shy in his kennel he has a lovely sweet but sassy playful side. Sonny apparently doesn't know many commands but understands off and no, he is very polite. He allows full body handling though he can be a bit hesitant with this sort of contact he's easy to win over with kind words and affection. Sonny walks gently on lead though he's been allowed to be in control he did correct and stay at heel with very few reminders. Sonny has been nice and fairly quiet in kennel, he may be a good candidate for a home where he'd be crated part of the day as long as he had adequate exercise and pack time every day. To meet Sonny just stop by the rescue any day between 11am and 4 pm.
If you want to apply for Sonny click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Valley Humane Society. Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sonny, a Meridian Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei breeders who help with Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
