My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Storm's, a 2 yr old Pyrenees female, rescue story began when a good samaritan saved her from a large storm drain culvert that flash flood waters had swept her into. She had obviously suffered extreme neglect and her health was so deteriorated we took her directly to our vet where she spent the first few days in ICU care. Storm weighed 35lbs, full of intestinal worms, severely anemic, heart worm positive, she had a tick borne disease, heavily matted, and severe ear infections. This gal had to fight to survive and that she did! Over the next few months Storm has over doubled her weight, bloodwork is all back to normal, ears are healthy, skin is healthy and coat is gorgeous, spayed, fully vaccinated, free of any intestinal worms, micro chipped, tick disease treated, and has finished heart worm treatment and is now heart worm negative!

Storm has been a trooper throughout it all; she has been cooperative and trusting of the medical staff, greets strangers with confidence, and loves attn! She's affectionate and dedicated to her family. Storm is a well mannered indoor dog, crate trained and house trained; she's great with older kiddos, but young kids' noise and energy can be too much for her. Storm has gotten along with the dogs at her foster home, but she is very slow to trust new dogs and best suited as only dog. She is fine with confident cats but will chase fearful cats that run.

If you are looking for a best friend Storm would be a great addition to the family. Please complete the adoption application through our local or national website: www.nationalpyr.org or www.wix.com/gprofok/gpr
