My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION

THIS IS LIL’BIT….and she is a little bit of this, little bit of that! This teeny, 4 lb (underweight), 2-3 yr old, Maltese Yorkie or Maltese LH Chi mix, was abandoned in the valley, in the heat, no food no water. When asked if we would take her by another rescue who didn’t have foster care available, of course we acquiesced. This little doll was, without question, abused, neglected and left for dead. She is still terribly underweight and fearful after being with us for a few weeks…but she is beginning to settle down. She LOVES to cuddle and snuggle as close as she can to you in bed. She clings to dear life when you hold her. She is starting to ask for attention but, as you can see by the pictures, she is VERY camera shy and these were the best we could get! Lil’Bit is not at all aggressive, but when you do something she doesn’t like, she will let you know. That being said, I can put my nose in her face, my hands in her mouth and she will not bite. The ideal home for Lil’Bit will be one of patience and understanding. While she is still a bit of an enigma to us, watching her come around a “lil’bit” every day is rewarding. She even does her business outside or on a pp pad, never an accident (but no guarantees at your house!)What her life was before, we know was not happy….but we will make sure that her life going forward will be secure and filled with love.

Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID

If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We will contact you once it has been reviewed.

UPDATE!!!! Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events most every Sunday at ROVER KENNELS on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Rover is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets.

Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!

Don't forget to check out our Events Calendar for more information on upcoming events!

See our home page for more details about our adoptions at Lhasa Happy Homes
