Mariah's Story...
**Mariah is a very special pup living in a foster home in Houston, Texas and is available for out-of-state adoption.**

This little Yellow Labrador mix is only about 4 months old and 23 pounds. Her smile is one of the best around! She was rescued from the county shelter in Houston in the absolute nick of time. Literally she had a couple of hours left when we scooped her up and we couldn’t be happier to help ensure that her life will be fantastic from now on.

Mariah is a little different than our other puppies because her two front legs are bowed. Her veterinarian feels that this is the result of malnutrition at a very early age when she was a stray pup, however doesn’t feel that surgical repair or any treatment is necessary at all. She gets around on her legs just fine, is painless and is growing like a normal pup. She is currently taking a Glucosamine supplement daily and the vet recommends keeping her on that life long. Her legs will always be this way and are not expected to correct themselves with time or growth. She is expected to be about 45-50 pounds as an adult.

Other than her legs, Mariah is a very normal puppy in personality, energy and spunk. She is working on potty, leash and kennel training and her new owner will need to pick up the training as soon as she arrives home. The first time that she was on a leash wasn’t too bad, but the puppy nature was to grab the leash with her mouth and try to walk herself. Although we didn’t encourage that, it was so adorable!

Mariah has been introduced to several other pups and at first she was very shy, but now she fits in well and wants to play with everyone. She is perfectly acclimated now to all types of doggy personalities and doesn’t show any signs of anxiety at all. Mariah loves being held by her foster mom and is such a delightful little girl.

Mariah is currently living in Houston, Texas and is available for out-of-state adoption. Her adoption fee is $450 to help cover the cost of her airline flight and travel crate. She is spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped already. She has a slightly different look to her, but it just gives her more character and because of that, we can’t help but love her that much more. If this amazing puppy is a perfect match for your family, please email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org to learn more about her and talk to her foster mom.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mariah, a Seattle Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Seattle, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Seattle.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Seattle already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Seattle breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Seattle paves the way for another one to be saved.
