Scrappy's Story...
Hey there! I'm new here, so my caretakers are still learning about me. I was transferred to DHA from Louisiana, where I helped out in disaster relief training for the 10 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. I am still a pup at just 5 months of age, so I will need lots of training. I enjoy playing with other dogs, but would love someone who can work with me on my manners. I am quite food motivated, so I will likely be fun to work with! If you're ready to meet high-energy little me, come in for a visit!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scrappy, a Wilmington Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
