Adelita's Story...
DOB: 9/8/11
Admitted to ELPO: 9/8/15

Adelita is a Chihuahua mix mama. She just had 5 puppies on September 4, 2015

She is so sweet. She is at ease with volunteers petting her in her kennel and holding her on their laps. She is an attentive mama checking on her pups in the kennel, next to hers. She's been taking short walks and is so happy to be outside exploring. Right now, she is heart worm positive and is being treated, so she can't play with others and get overexcited, but she's curious about the world, even in little jaunts around the building.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Adelita, a Dallas Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Dallas, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Dallas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dallas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dallas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dallas paves the way for another one to be saved.
