My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

As an owner surrender, this 7 month old pup is a work in progress. Wyatt was not your typical puppy. He was frightened of the yard and other dogs when he arrived at his foster home. It took a few days to learn to use the dog door and then suddenly the world was open to him!

Wyatt is hopefully full grown at 15+ inches. He weighs a slender 25 pounds. The change in this boy in two short weeks is fantastic. He plays chase with confidence and has learned the joy of beagle wrestling! Standing on the grass made him pant and drool, but now the lawn is a place to run, follow scents and to roll around on your back. It is wonderful to see him run with puppy enthusiasm!

House breaking has been going pretty well for a boy who has had no training. He will even go off the patio now to use the yard for bathroom breaks. He sleeps through the night without accidents, but does need reminders during the day that it is time to go outside. His leash skills are improving, but Wyatt will benefit from puppy classes with his new family.

One thing that needed no work is his sweet, loving nature. He will snuggle up next to you when he is ready for a nap. He has those soulful, hound eyes that will just melt your heart and he uses them to talk you into extra treats or kisses on the top of his head. He will make some family a wonderful companion, but he does need a family experienced with training scent hounds.
