My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This handsome fellow is Nitro. The other guy in the photo is Friendship Director Greg Willey. Nitro is a 2 year old Shepherd mix that was found as a stray in another county. Greg was on one of his weekly travels rescuing dogs and came across Nitro and brought him back to Friendship in hopes of finding him a loving home. Nitro has lots of energy and is also very affectionate. His history is not known. Nitro would sure love an active adult only family or one with kids over 12, to call his own. How about yours?

On September 29, 2015, Nitro was selected to be one of Friendship's Prison Dogs. He is currently undergoing training at the Grafton Correctional Institution. Prison Dogs are trained in obedience, basic commands, manners and proper leash walking. He will spend approximately 12 weeks at the prison.

If you are interested in adopting this prison dog, adoption applications are now being accepted. This dog will be returning to Friendship probably sometime in December. All dogs return on an individual basis. You can find an app at friendshipapl.org under ADOPT-FIND A FRIEND. Hand deliver the app to Friendship or call if you live a distance away to see if you can fax one in. Please DO NOT email the app.
