Sam's Story...
Introducing handsome Sam! He's a one year old active Boxer mix. Sam was found wandering down West Ridge Road by a volunteer on her way home from Friendship. She stopped and Sam jumped right in her car. He's been waiting for his family to find him but since they never did, Sam is now available for adoption. This fellow is as friendly as can be and would love a fenced in yard to run off some of his energy. Sam seems interested in other dogs, but only to play with them. It's not known if he likes cats. It would probably be best if kids in the family were a little older due to his strength. Stop by to see Sam soon.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam, a Elyria Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
