Stitch's Story...
Anyone looking for a dapper young pup, sporting dashing good looks and a stellar personality to match? Well then, Stitch is your man...err, dog! Stitch became a beloved RSHT Rescue pup recently when his previous owner surrendered him to our care. He does well with children and is fostered with other dogs - and while he does very well with his canine foster siblings, he especially loves the company of his foster mom. Stitch is crate trained, but he is still working on his house-training so he will need a patient family committed to helping him with this. Stitch is approximately 2 years old, 12 pounds, and has the build of a Dachshund, but coat of a Yorkie/Terrier. He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and will be neutered shortly. If you are interested in Stitch, please complete an adoption application from www.ruffstarthappytails.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stitch, a Wethersfield Dachshund/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier for sale in Wethersfield, or seeking a Dachshund/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Wethersfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wethersfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wethersfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier breeders who help with Dachshund/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wethersfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
