My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Zelda! I am about 2 years old and weigh around 30 lbs. My foster parents tell me I look to be a Beagle/ Basset cross. They also tell me that I am really cute!
I think I was supposed to be a hunting dog. I like to follow scents and bark at the ground as I go along tracking whatever might have been out in my foster parents’ dog yard. I have also been known to dig when I think I have found something good, but am learning that digging is unacceptable.
I’m not very good on leash for walks yet, my nose likes to lead me and I can pull pretty hard. Foster mom says I just need more training to learn how to be a good girl.
I am used to a fenced dog yard here at my foster home, but will go potty on a leash if necessary.
I also do very well in the car. I will look out the window for a bit then settle down and take a nap.
I really like to play. I would like a dog buddy, but would probably do okay as an only dog. If the other dogs or humans here won’t play with me, I will find a toy and entertain myself.
When it is time to settle down, I will go snuggle up on one of the dog beds. Sometimes I get to snuggle with my foster dad in his big chair. I really like that!
I am learning about crates and kennels. I have to go in one whenever my foster parents have to leave for a few hours. I am not too impressed with it and can be very vocal when expressing my opinion of it. They usually give me a peanut butter and treat filled Kong to help me learn that a crate isn’t so bad.
I am very sweet and lovable and need someone to be patient with me. My foster mom says that an obedience class would be perfect for me!
If I sound like the perfect girl for you, please contact the wonderful people here at MW BREW!
