My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Possum. I am a 7-month-old spayed female Border Collie mix. I weigh approximately 30 pounds right now, but I still have some growing to do.

I am every bit a puppy! I'm playful, loving, excitable, and totally silly. I'm a really good pup, but I'm not going to lie, I will need some basic training. What 6-month-old puppy doesn't, though?! Us Border Collies are sharp as a tack, so it won't take me long to learn the basics. Before you know it, you'll have the smartest dog on the block.

Aside from being a complete goofball, I am a really sweet girl. I love all my human companions and I get along great with other dogs, too! I haven't met a stranger yet! I'm pretty sure that everybody who meets me wants to be my best friend.

At the end of August I was brought into a local high-kill shelter as a stray. Can you imagine an adorable puppy like me in a shelter? I definitely did not belong there! There's no way of knowing how long I had been on the streets, but it probably wasn't long. I'm not skinny and my coat is pretty soft and shiny still.

I spent about 2 weeks at the shelter before CageFree came to my rescue. They pulled me from the pound and brought me to their facility where the rest of the rescue pups live. I spend my days hanging out with all my friends while I wait for the perfect family to come along. Are you that family?

Just so you know, I'm athletic and can jump pretty high. My friends think it's possible that I may have escaped my yard that way. It's totally fine if you don't have a yard, but if you do, it will need to be completely enclosed with a tall, secure fence. My new family must also be active. I've got some puppy energy to burn and to keep me from getting myself into trouble, I'll need a decent amount of exercise and stimulation.

If you think I would make an excellent addition to your family, please contact CageFree and tell them you want to schedule a time to meet me. I'll be waiting patiently!
