My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It got scarily close to Micah's euthanasia time in a dismal Texas shelter. It was definitely through no fault of his own..it's all a matter of space. He came in at a very crowded time (but then again..all times are very crowded) and was therefore given a very short window in which to be rescued. After a scramble by our very compassionate Texas rescuer (she has a soft spot for a really cute fuzzy guy with a great temperament!), Micah was pulled out of the shelter at the last second possible. His rescuer, shelter workers and Micah's foster haven't stopped raving about this adorable and engaging guy ever since. There was some indecision about Micah's breed mix...the shelter said Cairn/Norfolk Terrier, but upon further vetting, Micah was said to be a Cairn/Poodle mix by one vet and another vet agreed that that was very possible. All we know is that Micah is wonderful, very beautiful (this shelter photo definitely doesn't do this stunning dog justice) and would be a great addition to any family.

Micah, at 9 - 12 months old and 12 lbs is the perfect size to take along just about anywhere. He is such a perfect candidate to find his forever home in Colorado - he's a natural-born walker with the energy and enthusiasm to accompany his favorite person on any path. We envision Micah with active retirees or a very loving family with older dog-crazy kids who enjoy spending their time with a comical fuzzy guy He would be a very family-oriented pup if given the chance...adventures, vacations or just hanging out at home would speak to the nature of this guy. A fun time would be exploring dog-friendly spots or time spent socializing with gentle canines and their dog-loving families. At the end of the day...there would be nothing better for Micah than to snuggle down with his family of humans and canines..he is unknown with cats.

It happens rarely...but for very special dogs, the shelter attaches a description to their kennel card describing how wonderful they are. The following were the shelter personnel's words of love for Micah:

Snow-white Micah is so striking with his beautiful looks. He has the most expressive eyes that make us all melt (we can't help but give him special treatment). More important..he's SO sweet and very calm..so easy to be with. He loves people but shows his emotion in quiet ways - never a peep out of the wonderful Micah. He's very observant, taking in all the information around him...so quiet and so very kind. Micah walks perfectly on a leash and always chooses to go to the bathroom outside. Micah would be so happy to be his favorite people's lap dog! After a stroll in the sunshine and some play, he is great with spending the rest of the day just hanging out being a couch potato and best friend.

Micah can be counted on to be a truly positive addition to any home. He is a low-maintenance guy whose joy at being part of a committed family would know no bounds. Micah would shine in positive reinforcement group obedience classes since his desire to please is so strong...and it would create that special bond that exists between a trained, respectful dog and his people. After passing his temperament tests and vetting with flying colors, Micah is currently in a foster home in Texas being reminded of his house skills. His foster family has described him as a lovebug and a sweetpea...can we possibly say more? They did say that Micah may need a bit of time, after his long transport to Boulder, to be his happy and very loving self.

Micah is a beautiful combination of two non-shedding breeds. He will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his pure white coat healthy and matt-free. Micah will emerge with an amazing white coat that over time will speak of cottony softness and good health.

Micah will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 8/18/15. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
