My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Ratty!

I'm 3 months old and hail from the great state of Mississippi, Louisville Mississippi specifically. Before I was born Louisville was hit by something called a tornado leaving the home place a mess. When I was born my mom kept us under a truck to keep us out of the hot sun. While I was still just a little squirt a nice lady named Miss Hannah came to help our humans rebuild their house. While she was here she took lots of pictures to see if she could help us find a forever home, whatever that is. The beautiful black dog in the picture is our mom....isn't she pretty! Hannah complimented her on being such a good mom and watching over us. She said we were Mississippi mutts....is that a good thing?
Doesn't mom have awesome ears! The better to hear us with!
Once we could manage without our mom Hannah called her friends back in Tennessee to see if she could find homes for us. When she left in her little truck she put us in a box to keep us safe and comfortable while she made the long drive home to Tennessee. We were a little crowded but we decided to cut Miss Hannah some slack by behaving and sleeping most of the way. Because we were still little and needed something called "vacc I nations" to keep us healthy we went to a wonderful home with Mrs Sheryl and our foster boy Timmy. Boy have we had fun in our foster home playing, running and growing strong and smart. Timmy has done an awesome job teaching us to stay in a kennel at night, practicing tricks and cleaning up after us while we learn where to go potty. One of my favorite things to do is sit in Mrs. Sheryl's lap to cuddle. For some reason I sometimes look worried but I'm actually just a love bug, or so I've been told. I love attention more than anything! Having someone hold me, take me for walks or just throw a ball for me to chase is my idea of a best day ever!
Everyone comments on how "handsome" I am and what "beautiful" eyes I have. I don't know about all the compliments.... I just know I need to be with someone who appreciates me because I'm just such a great little pup. All of my brothers and sisters have now been adopted so now I'm ready for my own forever family. If you are still not convinced of how special I am then call the folks at Pooches so they can put you in contact with my foster boy Timmy. He told me that he would find me a family who would love me forever!
