Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Name: Toby
Age: 8 - 10 years old?
Breed/Weight: Border Collie, 40 pounds (needs to gain a few lbs.)
Disability: Deaf
Toby was relinquished to a south Jersey shelter, no longer wanted by his family.
Toby was definitely a bit anxious when he got to PWD but after a couple weeks, he is finally beginning to settle and getting the swing of our rescue routine. He has discovered the sofa in our office and seems very content being with both dogs and people around him. His new buddy seems to be Charm, he finds comfort in following her and just being with her a perfect pair, she is blind and he is deaf! Toby does well with dogs and cats and will need a patient family as he adjusts to yet another new life.
he last few weeks, we have learned a few wonderful aspects about him, besides being a smart boy, he is great on lead, seems very housebroken, knows some sign commands, sit, gives me his paw and down, we have not seen too much interest in toys here, but maybe that too will change.
Toby is a beautiful, friendly boy, and a pretty healthy senior we might add, who like so many dogs needs a second chance in finding that human connection. We believe Toby would do great with another fur companion, maybe Charm!
