My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mighty Molly is a 7 1/2 year old 19 pound Shih Tzu. Mighty Molly came to us as A-20-15. She was identified by a number and didn’t even have a name. Her first foster mommy named her Mighty Molly because of her amazing resilience. She is truly small but mighty.
Mighty Molly spent the first 6 years of her life giving birth to puppies so they could be sold in pet stores. She received no vet care and spent her life in a cage. When the breeder threw Mighty Molly away she had a growth on her eyelid, an eye infection, painfully infected teeth, infected ears, fur so matted she had to be shaved to the skin, and was infested with fleas. The Anamosa Vet Clinic took great care of this little girl. Both eyes were checked and treated, the growth was removed from her eyelid, she had a dental, and was spayed. Her right eye doesn’t produce any tears so she needs inexpensive eye drops to keep it moist several times a day.
When Mighty Molly went to her first foster home she didn’t know how to drink out of a bowl, hadn’t seen grass, didn’t know how to walk on a leash, and had no idea what to do with a toy. This little girl is smart! In less than two weeks she learned living in a home with a family is pretty great. She slept in bed beside her foster mom every night and likes to be held and cuddled.
Mighty Molly went to what we thought was her forever home in August of 2015. Molly’s mom contacted us a week ago, she has terminal cancer and isn’t able to care for Molly anymore. Molly is back in one of our foster homes and is once again in need of a forever home.
Mighty Molly likes people other dogs and cats. Mighty Molly would make the perfect addition to any home. She would be most comfortable in a home with another small dog.
Mighty Molly is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and microchipped.
