When Teddy was surrendered to SNAP cats we were told that he had a cleft lip/palate. Once we saw the dilute calico ears, we knew he was a she. But she knew her name, so we kept it.
SNAP Cats, with help from our wonderful donors, fixed Teddy's cleft lip/palate in a series of surgeries starting on October 15, 2014.
At first, Teddy was very, very shy. She startled at every little noise, and basically was being considered a barn cat. As time progressed, though, Teddy was making great progress. She would take food from your hand. Then, for some unknown reason, Teddy regressed. She hides now most of the time. She really needs a quiet home, with either no other cats or a few non-aggressive cats. I think there’s a possibility of her making progress again, but it’s just not going to happen here at SNAP Cats.

So we’re looking for a nice, quiet home for Teddy to possibly come out of her shell (again). She may come around, but we can’t guarantee that. Teddy may always be a little timid. But that shouldn't stop her from becoming an indoor kitty. Teddy just needs some time to acclimate. She needs a human that'll give her the time to adjust, has a quiet household, with no kids, indoor only, and has a companion cat to help her socialize.

Teddy is up to date with her vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Teddy *URGENT*, a Berkeley Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
