My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lucy Blue, a 4 year old, 38 lb, very calm and beautiful purebred Blue Heeler born with no tail, one of the characteristics of this breed, and with the wonderful intelligence and devoted nature this breed is also known to possess. This sweet girl is not an alpha dog as some Heelers can be. She is quiet, smart and confident. She came to be at a local kill shelter when she was turned in by a family who said they didn’t want her anymore. We thought she was just another casualty of an apathetic Tennessee family discarding their dog like yesterday’s newspaper, but instead we found the sad story to how her life started when we took her to be vetted. The vet tech there knew Lucy immediately. She had given Lucy as a gift to her boyfriend when they lived together. After they broke up, the boyfriend kept Lucy and the vet tech lost track of both the human and the dog. It broke her heart to see Lucy homeless and also heartworm positive. She had taken such good care of Lucy when she raised her as a young pup. So now Critter Cavalry Rescue is going to treat Lucy for heartworm and get in good shape to be adopted. We are determined to get this exceptionally sweet dog a great home with a caring family and for sure a friendly dog. She is also fine with cats and loves people, although shy at first when meeting them. She is housetrained and crate trained. Lucy smiles a lot and yet, as you can see in the photos, she demurely looks down with a flirtatious appearance of playing the reluctant beauty. Humble, loving and devoted, this girl will be a constant shadow of commitment in your life if you will just invite her in. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
