My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~adoption fee applies please email caarescue@gmail.com if serious about adoption~

My name is Chapo! I joined the CAA Foster Family a little while back. I have been in foster care with Kathleen from My Canine Connection, dog training and walking services (aka Auntie Kathleen). Since with her I have learned a lot and it is like my little life has been flip upside down and a whole new world opened up to me

I think maybe I did not have proper socialization with people when I was young or if I did it was not very positive. So I really was not very trusting but I have learned over this last little while that this young baby boy can learn new tricks! Auntie Kathleen gave me the time and space I needed but she also refused to let me boss her around. & trust me I tried!! Real hard every day all day!!! But she stuck to her guns or rather treats and rewarded me for my positive behavior.
Being the smart man that I am it did not take me too long to realize I get a yummy treat when I listen and pay attention.
I like treats! :)

I was not house trained before but I am now; however my new family will have to listen to Auntie Kathleen because it may very well happen that with a move to a new home I may have an accident

I absolutely adore giving kisses to everyone! Big or small, old or young! After licking my bum and sniffing other doggie bums I am more than happy to come over and slobber love and kisses all over your face! :)

I may be a small boy but I am super uber duper active; rain, shine, cold or snow nothing stops me!
I love to be out and about playing with doggies. I like them big or small as long as they want to run and play I know we will be the best of friends! All doggies like me one way or another even the ones that don’t like me initially give in and play with me. I have a happy & infectious effect on other doggies. I like being with them all!
I can be a little vocal at times; that is just the terrier terror in me. We like to yap and always stay in constant communication with everyone all the time so I probably won’t do well in an apartment style home. Don’t get me wrong … it is not like a bark all day every day non stop. In fact usually I am peepless but if there is a reason to bark I will be more than happy to alert the entire eastern half of North America that something is up! What can I say? I am just doing my job and I am a little bit of a perfectionist!!
balls…Balls…BALLS! All the time all day always & forever! Invest in a lot of balls… I lose them, I hide them, and I find places to get them stuck in that you did not even know existed. balls…Balls…BALLS!
I still do suffer from food aggression but Auntie Kathleen is working on this last little hurl with me and for now I am being fed my breakfast and dinner separately from the other doggies in the home. This way I do not need to feel like I have to protect my food from anyone.

I would love to be out running through the woods exploring and hiking with you
& when I get tired I have THE cutest sleepy eyes you have ever seen in your life!!! You do not know what melting falling in love means until you have seen my sleepy “Mama I am soooooo tired, carry me!?” Face
I have been around cats with no issues
And also around children but with my food aggression still being an issue I really think children over the age of 12 years who can understand and be respectful of my space
If you have fallen in love with me and are able to follow the directions of my Auntie Kathleen trainer who knows me best and has worked every day with me day in and out for the last couple of months then wait are you arf’ing balls…Balls…BALLS waiting for??!!???
