My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bonjour! My name is Amelie, I’m the almost all black puppy with white toes and accents here and there. It is sure nice to meet you, and make new friends. Lucky for my sister and I, we were born in NBS Animal Rescue when the kind volunteers there took my mom (Sophia) into their care. My momma, Chloe and I all just got spayed, and are recovering really good!

If you’d like, I’ll tell you a little bit about each of us. Our mom is a poodle, and all we know about dad's breed, is that he must have been handsome! My sister and I are 8 weeks old. Chloe, my white and fluffy sister is the more spunky one of the two of us. She is always trying to wrestle toys, and instigate playtime with any cat, dog or person she sees. She is really quite funny, and is always pretty animated.

My mom, Sophia – has had a rough start. She was found as a stray, pregnant and covered with all sorts of icky fleas and sore spots. Thankfully, our friends at NBS knew how to treat a special lady like her, and have helped her build up her confidence. She has been a very good momma to us, and has done really well with the cat and other dogs. Sophia is only about a year old, so she spend a lot of time playing with us and enjoying chasing toys too. Sometimes – she gets soooooo happy, that she runs as fast as she can all around the house, just because! Someday I’ll be fast like her. Although she can be shy sometimes, especially when meeting new people. If you have a little bit of patience, and know how to give a good belly rub? You have a best friend for life.

As for me? Well – I’m the ambitious one of the group. I’m not as spunky as my sister, but I am pretty smart. I’ve got this potty pad thing figured out pretty good. Also, I’m stealthy at collecting all of the toys I can. Stuffed animals are my favorite, and I like to put all toys I can find in a pile and then nap on my mound of stuffed treasures. That, or I like to burrow under blankets and find the warmest spot I can to snooze and recharge for puppy play time later. Pretty cool, huh?

If you think me, or any of my NBS family dogs would be a good fit for your home, please visit www.NBSanimalRescue.com to fill out at application. Thanks so much!

Puppy Kisses, Amelie

P.S. To adopt puppies from our rescue- Kids should be 7 years old and up, and the family must be able to come home every 5 hours to check on me and let me go potty. My mom would also prefer a fenced in yard, as she is still pretty nervous on a leash (but she is happy to learn!)

My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

Do you think I might be the perfect addition to your family and want to meet me?? Please:

1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out an online adoption application and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!

2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pets veterinary history.

3.) Call your references and let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number as they will be speaking with a member of our team as a personal references.

Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.

While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and will fill out an adoption application right away, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family. Would you please help me by sharing my picture and information on your Facebook page, or e-mail to your friends and family members? I'm a great pup and I really deserve a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
