Kismo's Story...
Well hi there! My name is Kismo, I am a 8 month old, red and white, neutered male Border collie. I was abandoned at the shelter just a short while ago. I was a little bit scared but the nice staff found me and brought me inside. My fur was really knotted and it looks like I have a burn running down my back but don’t worry the doctor is going to give me a good looking over and I heard they plan on giving me something called a bath….I sure hope that is a tasty treat…Any-who, I would love to have a family that I could live with instead of here. I mean its nice here and all but it isn't the same as having a place with my own family to call home. I would like to have a really active family that will help me stay active. It would be best if my new family had some experience with Border Collies so they knew what to expect as far as my energy level and temperament goes. Just to set things straight a bit however, I am the sweetest little guy you will ever meet! So if you are looking to add a furry four legged friend to your home and to join you on adventures then please come visit me. I am sure we will have tons of fun!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kismo, a Murphysboro Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Murphysboro, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Murphysboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Murphysboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Murphysboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Murphysboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
