At 2 years old, she is still young, and is good with kids, cats and other dogs. Due to living in a private home while in foster, she is housebroken.

About Rainbow Animal Rescue, Inc

About Our Rescue Group...

Rainbow Animal Rescue is a no-kill rescue based in North Carolina. We are a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) rescue organization.
We started our rescue in 2004 in an effort to help the many unwanted, abandoned and mistreated animals in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina and the surrounding areas. We foster pets in our homes until we can find loving 'forever' homes for them. In an effort to aid more animals we recently entered into an agreement with Halifax County to operate a Rescue and Adoption Center. We now have a small shelter with 19 indoor / outdoor kennels, a puppy room, and exercise yards.

Donate to Our Rescue Group... is all I have right now.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Currently our shelter, located at 54 Dog Pound Road in Halifax, NC, is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 - 5 pm and other times by appointment. We also have small adoption events the first Saturday of every month at petsen$e located on Julian Allsbrook Road in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fee is $150 which covers all age appropriate vaccinations, worming, rabies if old enough and spay or neuter. If the dog is too young for spay or neuter prior to adoption, you can bring the dog can be altered at our vet in Williamston, NC at no charge to you. Or you may have the dog altered at your vet and we will refund $50 when a certificate of alteration is provided. We have a rigorous adoption screening process with the goal to find a permanent forever home for the animals in our care. Including, personal and vet references, home visits, and a detailed dog characteristic questionaire.
